FINANCIAL
INFORMATION
FINANCIAL
GUIDELINES
When a student leaves home to enter college, it is often the first step toward entering
the adult world. With the move comes the exciting possibility of personal freedom and
responsibilities. Among other responsibilities comes the obligation of meeting financial
commitments. As a Christian institution we believe that God is able to meet the financial
needs of every student.
Though God is the supplier of all needs, every student is
the steward of the funds which God supplies. As a responsible
Christian student, you should carefully plan to meet the financial
obligations to which you agree as you enter college. You should
understand that previous and continued contributions made
by you, your home church, your family, pastor, or friends
has no bearing on your responsibility to promptly pay all
debts which you incur when you enroll as a student. Only monies
designated by others specifically for the repayment of your
college debt can be used for that purpose. Therefore, plan
to carefully prepare for and wisely budget the repayment of
your college costs.
The payment of all fees, tuition, and deposits for student
housing rent is due and payable at the time of registration.
You should be prepared to pay the full amount at that time.
The trustees have graciously considered a payment plan which
will allow eligible students to select an alternative plan
of payment. The plan requires that the student who elects
to do so, pay all fees and 25% of the total tuition at the
time of registration. The balance is due in three equal installments
on the 15th of each month beginning the first month following
registration.
Students who become delinquent in rent or tuition payments will be
asked to secure a private loan to pay off the entire amount of indebtedness.
(A private loan may be secured from family, friends, or lending institutions.)
The student who is unable to pay the debt within two months of its
becoming overdue will be suspended from class attendance until such
indebtedness is paid in full. If the full payment is not received
by one week prior to final exams, the student will not be able to
take finals and thus lose a wjole semester's work.
ALL FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS (INCLUDING LOANS) OTHER THAN FULL
PAYMENT MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE REGISTRATION DATE.
NO STUDENT WILL BE ADMITTED TO CLASS UNTIL ALL FINANCIAL ITEMS
ARE PROPERLY SECURED.

SCHOLARSHIPS
WORK-STUDY PROGRAM
The Work-Study scholarship provides the student with the
opportunity of attending college by working at assigned duties
in exchange for tuition and other costs. Originally this program
was initiated by the farsightedness and concern of Mr. and
Mrs. J.B. Tompkins. Others have seen this need and have joined
in making this available through their gifts.
Contributions to this program are welcome. These scholarships
are made available on an as need basis, and the availability
of funds. Any student can apply through the college Scholarship
Committee, which reviews all applications. Any interested
applicant should contact the Dean for details of the program.
ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
The alumni of IBC have established a scholarship fund to
help needy students. Awarding of this scholarship is on the
basis of need for students pursuing a pastoral or missionary
ministry enrolled in the Biblical Studies Diploma program.
Up to $250.00 per semester may be awarded to the qualified
student. For details see the Dean.
CHURCH
AND SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
IBC encourages the home church of each student to help with
the tuition for these students. For those churches wishing
to participate in this program, the college encourages the
church to make direct deposit of all such monies in the student's
account with the college. This arrangement guarantees that
all monies are used to repay the tuition and other indebtedness
to IBC, while allowing the college to be aware of the church's
participation in the student's education. Students receiving
such aid should be advised that their home church will receive
a grade status report should they fail to maintain a 2.0 GPA.
Occasionally special scholarship grants are made available
to the college from other sources. when these are available,
students are informed of the requirements and amounts.
HAVENS
FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is designed to assist students who are serious
about receiving an education, who practice high Christian
standards, and who would not be able to receive an education
apart from some financial assistance. Any recipient must maintain
a GPA of not less than 2.50 as a full-time student. Also,
each recipient is required to take from 12-15 hours per semester
(depending on eligibility rules.) Recipients will be determined
by the administration based upon the applications received.
Applications are available from the Dean.
