SPONSORSHIP
Independent Baptist College is a church-sponsored college. In 1997,
the college sponsorship passed from Trinity Temple Baptist Church
of Dallas, who operated it from 1964-1997 to Spring Valley Baptist
Church of Fort Worth. This passing of sponsorship came as a result
of Trinity Temples desire to pass the college on to another independent
Baptist church of like faith and practice. Based upon Spring Valley's
desire for this ministry and Trinity Temple acting in accordance
with the by-laws, both churches came to an agreement for transfer
of sponsorship. Great numbers of like-minded churches share this
view of church-sponsored missions and share directly in the support
of this mission ministry. While the college is a part of the Spring
Valley Baptist Church's ministries, it has been duly incorporated
in keeping with the laws of Texas which enables it to own property
and develop as a full-scale college should. The college is directed
by a body of trustees who are members of the sponsoring church and
elected for this purpose. The Spring Valley Baptist Church earnestly
solicits prayer for the progress and welfare of the Independent
Baptist College.
TRUSTEES
The Board of Trustees consists of godly, competent men who
are members of Spring Valley Baptist Church. Each member is
elected to a three-year term with two new men elected annually.
Its function is to carry out the desires of the church and
represent the church in matters of major importance pertaining
to policies of the college, budgeting, faculty requirements,
campus development, and the general welfare of the College
as a whole. The following men are presently serving as Trustees
of the College:

COMMITTEE
The function of this committee is to review student applications
and make recommendations regarding applicants who may have
